The in-between summer and fall look dictates short dresses or cool shorts, tanned legs and short show-stopping ankle boots.
Fall calls black back as the strongest colour of the season.

Not a lot of surprises this year. Gladiator sandals, which took the world by storm last year, are topping the charts again this season, and platform shoes are still going strong as well. Even those cage shoes and collar sandals that started popping up last year have finally arrived as full-fledged, mainstream trends.In fact, the season's only real "comeback" is the wedge heel, which we haven't seen in abundance for the last couple of years.

Like basic black pumps, certain boot styles are timeless; they're easy to wear year in and year out, and they go with nearly everything in your cool weather wardrobe. That's why I highly recommend having a pair of simple knee-high boots in either brown or black -- all the better if you can have both.But beyond the basics, each Fall brings a bevy of new boot trends.

Go-Go boots certainly aren't everyone's cup of tea, and these days most women only wear them as fetish/budoir footwear, or as part of a costume

Platform boots are sexy, but did you know that platform soles have another purpose? They do. Because they elevate the front of the foot, they help to offset the height of the heel. So a pair of platform boots with 4" heels and 1" platform soles, actually feel a bit more like boots with 3" heels.
In addition to being sexy, knee high boots are flattering and versatile. They help to keep your legs warmer, generally have a slimming effect, and can be paired with nearly anything in your closet.

Stiletto boots aren't always the easiest boots to wear, but they're definitely among the sexiest. Tall boots tend to be flattering anyway, and adding stiletto heels to the mix makes them even sexier.

Thigh high boots really don't have to have anything beyond their shaft height to be sexy. In fact, flat thigh high boots can be as sexy as high heeled styles -- and they're usually far more comfortable.

I don't know why white boots are so wonderful, but they are. Unfortunately, they're not always easy to find. But even if you can't find a pair of sexy boots in pure white, winter white, light creams and beiges shouldn't be overlooked, as they're incredibly appealing shades as well.

High heel boots are sexy, flattering and versatile, but they are high heels, and as such, they can be uncomfortable and difficult to walk in. If you don't like, or aren't used to, sky-high stilettos, look for boots that feature slightly lower heels, chunky high heels, wedge heels, or platform soles that will help offset the height of the heel.

Sometimes you want all the sexiness of a high heeled boots, without the shaft height. That's when sexy ankle boots come in - and the good news is, there is no shortage of sexy ankle boots to be had this season. Of course, the hot trend this year is sky-high booties and ankle boots with platform soles, open toes and/or cut-out uppers.
